Weighbridge opens for caravans in Gundagai
Best known for the Dog on the Tuckerbox and as a refuelling and stopover point between Sydney and Melbourne, caravanners now have another reason to spend a night or two Gundagai: to check their caravan weights. Gundagai Cabins and Tourist Park has an onsite public weighbridge, available only to guests of the park via its ‘Stay and Weigh’ program.
For $25 the park will weigh your vehicle and van and give you your GVM, GTM, ATM, GCM and towball weights. With the current crackdown on overweight caravans – not to mention the danger of towing an overweight van – now’s the time to make sure you’re towing legally.
Just a couple of minutes from the Hume Highway, Gundagai Cabins and Tourist Park is conveniently located a few minutes’ walk from the historic town of Gundagai on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. The park offers unique drive-through, undercover, ensuite caravan sites, as well as grassy powered and unpowered sites.
