Now here’s an innovative product that campers will want to get their mitts on. The LumaRope from Prehoda Gear is a solar-powered guy rope that, you guessed it, illuminates! These glow-in-the-dark ropes replace existing guy ropes on tents, shelters, tarps, etc., and because they’re powered by the sun, there’s no need for spare batteries. Apart from looking cool, the purpose of the LumaRope is to make camping safer, so everyone can see exactly where the tent support ropes are in the dark – that means no more tripping over them on your late-night dunny runs! The LumaRope is clever enough to switch itself on at dusk and turn back off at dawn thanks to its built-in light sensor. This product gets a ‘glowing’ recommendation from us!
What’s more, LumaRope are currently in the process of developing a heavy-duty version for caravans and camper-trailers, so keep an eye out for that!
