Now here’s an innovative product that campers will want to get their mitts on. The LumaRope from Prehoda Gear is a solar-powered guy rope that, you guessed it, illuminates! These glow-in-the-dark ropes replace existing guy ropes on tents, shelters, tarps, etc., and because they’re powered by the sun, there’s no need for spare batteries. Apart from looking cool, the purpose of the LumaRope is to make camping safer, so everyone can see exactly where the tent support ropes are in the dark – that means no more tripping over them on your late-night dunny runs! The LumaRope is clever enough to switch itself on at dusk and turn back off at dawn thanks to its built-in light sensor. This product gets a ‘glowing’ recommendation from us!

What’s more, LumaRope are currently in the process of developing a heavy-duty version for caravans and camper-trailers, so keep an eye out for that!

Our vehicles are expensive, so it’s makes sense to ensure they are protected in the event of an accident, and part of that is having a dash cam. Uniden have just unveiled their new iGo Cam, the 85R. This clever cam offers ultra 4K resolution and a full HD rear-view dash cam, with a wide 160° viewing angle. Its list of features is impressively long, so we’ll name just a few: GPS geotagging, footage lock protection, parking mode, impact and motion detection, speed/red light camera warning, and supercapacitor, which provides a longer lifespan and wider range of operating temperatures.
