Variety WA doing it for the kids: 4WD adventurers pull together a whopping $200k

Variety WA has raised over $200,000 for kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability, in order to help make their lives a bit brighter and easier.

This was made possible thanks to the 4WD Adventure event, a seven-day event where more than 70 people came together to explore the best 4WD tracks in the west Kimberley.

The group of 4WD enthusiasts, both experienced and non-experienced 4WDers supported by a team of experts, took off on May 26 from Broome and made their way up the Dampier Peninsula, stopping at places like Beagle Bay, Lombadina, Kooljaman and One Arm Point.

Variety WA CEO Tony Hume said, “The 4WD Adventure gave people the opportunity to experience some of the most stunning parts of WA with a group of people committed to having a great time, while raising money for kids in need”.

“This was 4WD travel made easy – we dealt with all the logistics, itineraries, accommodation and insurance so that all the participants had to do was come along for the ride.”

A special highlight of the trip was the group being allowed to access Aboriginal cultural sites in the Ardyaloon (One Arm Point) area, which required special permission from Bardi elders.

The 4WD Adventure has been running for 23 years, providing a fun and safe once-in-a-lifetime experience for 4WD enthusiasts, as well as much-needed funds for disadvantaged Western Australian kids.
